It's that time of year when the sky is being lit up with fireworks, but not everyone thinks they are a great idea, with some Brits even calling for certain kinds to be banned. One person who thinks they need to be used more carefully is mum, Sand Mic, who recently detailed what she doesn't understand about fireworks.
Even though Bonfire Night is set to take place this week, some displays have already been hosted and other people have been having their own firework events at home in recent days. None the less, not everyone likes them, and some people can find them very unsettling.
As well as startling people when they erupt unexpectedly, there are other problems they cause. For example, dog owners need to take action to protect their pets ahead of November 5.

However, for Sand, there are other things she doesn't understand about people's use of fireworks. In a TikTok video, she explained just why she thinks some people are "selfish".
Sand said: "Why does there need to be fireworks at 10pm at night? Like, for me, it's inconsiderate. I think it's so inconsiderate to children, to pets, to people who have to go to work in the morning who are light sleepers who may have already gone to bed.
"It gets dark really quick. Why can't people do their fireworks earlier? It was dark at like 6pm today. It's been raining all day, maybe that's why, but it wasn't raining actually in the evening. They could have done it then, but it happens every year."
She went on to explain that some people may say she wouldn't suggest this if people were doing it for Diwali, but she thinks the same principles apply. She doesn't understand why people ever set them off so late in the day, even as a part of big celebrations.
Sand explained she can't comprehend, on any occasion, why people have to set fireworks off so late. Even though her kids managed to sleep through it, she admitted it gives her "anxiety" that they are going to wake up.
She added: "Please, there's just no need. I don't understand why people have to do this."
The video has been viewed hundreds of times since it was shared, and dozens of people commented too. Many were quick to share their thoughts on the topic.
One said: "Fireworks shouldn't be available to the public. It's selfish and entitled people having them." Another wrote: "It went off until almost 1am!"
A third replied: "They shouldn't be setting them off anyway until it's actually Bonfire Night. It's too early for them. I heard some near me too and I have sensory issues."
Other people had different ideas though, as someone else wrote: "It's once a year, it's not that deep." Another commented: "I'm sure you will get over it."
One more also chimed in with: "I love fireworks and so does my son. I don't care what time they come on. It's just a bit of noise and they look so pretty."
In the UK, people are not permitted to let off fireworks on private land between 11pm and 7am, with exceptions for Bonfire Night (until midnight), New Year's Eve, Diwali and Chinese New Year (until 1am). It is illegal to set off or throw fireworks in public places like streets and parks.
You must be over 18 to buy and use adult fireworks. As well as this, you can only buy them during specific periods of the year.
